The
Castle
This castle, built in three different
historical periods and enlarged as far as the shores of the
lake, has always been the main defence point of Passignano.
The first construction dates back to the 5th-6th c. It has
recently been bought by the Town Council which has restored
it completely to use as a Documentation centre for the territory.
Gothic
Tower
This is the oldest tower dating back to the 5th-6th Century.Until
the beginning of the 19th C. the tower was part of the surrounding
walls, and was probably at that date already used as a house.
San Bernardino
Situated on the main road of the historical centre, this church
was built at the end of the 5th c., and has a fine sandstone
portal. In the nearby "piazzetta" (small square) there is
the Oratory of the Holy Sacrament, and the church of San Rocco
with its elegant Renaissance double portal in sandstone |
