Documentation Centre on Traditional Boats for Lake and River Navigation
At the Centre, visitors can see on display several boats coming from the Trasimeno Lake, the Piediluco Lake, the Fucecchio Pond and model of fassoi from the Cabras Pond, Sardinia).
In particular, as for Trasimeno Lake, there are two kinds
of traditional boat whose existence was already documented between the 15th and 16th century AD and which were still used by professional fishermen up the 1950s. In the outdoor area there also is a reproduction of the barchetto del gorro, a smallere kindof boat used up to the 1930s to fish with a big trawl-net called gorro.Finally, the most important pieces of tha Museum: the monòssili boats (13th century AD) which have been found during tha dedging of the Trasimeno shores near Passignano.
